What Was This Part of The Project?
As our team now had a firm understanding of the direction we wanted to take our project, our next step was to solidify the concept of our project. This advance transitioned us into Design Step 2: Generation of Alternative Concepts. The overall goal of this step was to produce concept sketches for our product in the clearest way possible. To bridge the gap between the project proposal and the concept sketches, we had decompose our product into fundamentals, which we did through a flow chart on the website Coggle. Afterwards, we created our first classification scheme to categorize these ideas in a more official manner and with feedback from our mentors. Getting further feedback from our mentors, we created the final edition of our classification scheme. We then brainstormed as to which concepts would pair best together for a total concept, and documented those in our design selections document. At last, we were ready to construct our total concept sketches.
This web-page includes our functional decomposition flow chart, our first and final takes on the classification scheme, our design selections document, our conceptual sketches, and my reflection on this step. A traditional concepts section is not included, as concepts can be found in the project proposal and throughout the documents.

Reflection
All in all, this step was an improvement from our last sketch. One thing that went better was our time management. We were more on top of things this time and did our work in an appropriate time frame. This allowed us to boost the quality of our output and garner more feedback from our mentors. We have been able to account for this aspect and improve as a group. Another aspect that went well was how well we got along. There were never any major arguments that occurred between group members and whenever we disagreed on what way we should take the project, we were always able to compromise and move forward.
For all that went well, we had our shortcomings. Firstly, we didn't follow the website properly at all times. For example, our initial sketches weren't detailed enough which lost us points. We will work on this next time. Another failure of our project that has continued from the first part is making sure everyone is pulling their weight. Throughout the second part of our project, there were points where the work load was not being evenly shared or certain people weren't getting their parts done in time. This isn't the fault of anyone, but the failure of the group as a whole. This will be something we all need to work on moving forward.
